Zine

‘Tuk-Tuk’ explores the cultural, social, and visual significance of the Thai tuk-tuk. Through photography, research, and personal interviews, the zine presents the vehicle as a symbol of Thailand’s identity, tourism, labour, and everyday city life. It investigates why tuk-tuks continue to hold an important place in Thailand’s transport culture, while also examining their role in supporting local drivers and tourism. Alongside this, the project considers the environmental and urban challenges affecting their future. As a whole, the zine reflects on the tuk-tuk as a nostalgic yet evolving object, connecting memory, place, economy, and Thai culture.
