‘Scented Vision, Textured City’ explores how urban spaces might be reimagined from a dog’s perspective. Beginning with Prim’s move from Bangkok to London and the emotional distance from her dog, Salmon, the essay questions what “dog-friendly” design truly means. Through field observations in London parks and public spaces, it investigates how dogs interact with natural elements, movement, scent, texture, and human-imposed rules. Drawing on dog welfare history, human–animal relationships, and sensory perception, the zine develops a design approach based on attentiveness. As part of the research process for ‘Scented Vision’, it asks how design can respond to dogs as active, sensing participants.
